Phillip John Evans BA (HONS) - Senior Partner
Phillip John Evans graduated in Politics in London and entered the profession after studying Constitutional Law. He completed articles of clerkship with Morgan Bruce (now Morgan Cole) and Dolmans.
He gained considerable experience in commercial matters by being articled to the senior partner who was legal adviser to public limited companies and high worth individuals. After admission in 1985 he joined Loosemores, a large well known Cardiff based firm. Within twelve months of qualification he was appointed partner in charge of his own branch office.
He has subsequently worked in Legal Aid practices throughout South Wales . Up until 2001 he spent six years in partnership at Neil Foley and Evans. This firm was mentioned in the Solicitors 100 (the publication that designates the top 100 law firms) within two years of opening.
With a view to specialization Phillip Evans became a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel. He is greatly experienced in Family, Divorce, Child Law and Matrimonial matters. He is also an able conveyancer with extensive property law experience in domestic and commercial matters. He has a bias towards non-contentious matters but is an able negotiator. He sees his strength as being a family lawyer.
His favourite Judge was Lord Denning who was somewhat controversial figure who developed the law to meet changing times.
His favourite lawyer was Leo Abse the former Welsh Member of Parliament who was instrumental in liberalizing the divorce law.
His only regrets are not being big enough to play wing forward for Wales and never seeing Cardiff City in the Premier League.
He is married with three children and although he resides in Dinas Powys is proud of his valleys background. |
